Restrict Editing And Sending In Canveo
This guide shows how to create roles with edit and send restrictions in Canveo

Canveo knows two types of restrictions: **1. Edit Restriction:** This prevents users from making changes to the text of an agreement (except for Merge Fields, whose value even a user with an Edit Restriction can update). **2. Send Restriction:** This prevents users from sharing agreements externally (whether for review or signature), unless the latest version of the agreement is an approved or reviewed version. These restrictions are set on a role level. In order to apply the restrictions to one ore more users, create or update a role with such restrictions (see below) and apply that role to the desired users.

Create a Role with Restrictions

Click the app section selector (you need to be a Legal or Admin user in order to see it)

Click "Admin" (you need to be an Admin user in order to see this option)

Click "Roles" in the side bar

Click an existing role to edit it

Add any of the available restrictions (see description above)

Click "Update"
Assign the Role to a User

In the "Admin" section, click "Users" in the side bar

Select a user whose role you want to update

Click the "Role" dropdown and select the appropriate role

The restrictions of the newly selected role have been applied (see the disabled checkboxes in the screenshot). Click "Submit" to finish.
