Rich Text component guide

Rich Text is a versatile WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) component that can be used to format and style text, insert links, create tables and lists, embed images and videos, find and replace text, and more.

Rutgers

From the **Components** interface on the editor, locate the **ellipsis ("...")**.\ Open the Component Library and select **Rich Text**.

The Rich Text toolbar allows you to format and style text, create lists and tables, insert media, find and replace text, and more.

Button Style Links

**Highlight the text you want to link** and Press [[Ctrl]] + [[K]], or click the [[link icon]] in the text editor. After adding a link URL to your highlighted text, toggle the **[[RCCL Inline Button]]** switch and click the green arrow to apply changes.

To update an existing link, **highlight the link text** and click the [[edit icon]].

Always preview before saving your work.

Inserting Media

To insert images, videos, or audio from the Media Library, click the [[media icon]] and select your item.

After the media has been added, click the item to display a range of options, including captions, adding a link, overriding the original alt text, changing the embed size, and alignment options. Preview your work before saving.

Stylized Quotes

To create a stylized quote, click the **[[quote icon]]** and fill out the fields. Quotes can be displayed at full-width, or left/right aligned.

Tables

To create tables, click the [[grid icon]] and visually select the number of rows and columns needed.

Tables can be filled out inside the Rich Text component with various column and row options. Preview your work before saving.

HTML Source View

**NOTE**: Editing the content's source is only allowed in the Full HTML component with limitations.

Web savvy content editors can view the [[source]] of any content inside the Rich Text or Full HTML component.
