School ACSI Inspire Self-Study Instructions

This guide provides detailed instructions for completing the ACSI Inspire Self-Study. By following these steps, school personnel can efficiently navigate the self-study requirements encouraging collaboration as well as thorough assessment and documentation of their school's effectiveness and areas for improvement.

Navigate to [accreditation.acsi.org](https://accreditation.acsi.org)

Click "Organization Representative"

Click the name of your school (always use the System Office account if you have multiple campuses)

To open the Self-Study to start work, either click "School Completes Self Study" here or [jump to Step 6 ](https://scribehow.com/viewer/School_ACSI_Inspire_Self-Study_Instructions__ztunxnKORlG2upSptfqWBQ?scrollToActionId=13a21f85)to click on the Instruments Tab at the top of the page.

Click the name of the instrument Ex: "Inspire Self-Study (All Addendums)"

Click "Instruments" tab

Click the name of the instrument Ex:"Inspire Self-Study (All Addendums)"

Click any page/section to open and get started! \ Ex: "ACSI Self-Study"

Use of Addendums

If using any Addendums, make sure to start on the very first page and click the names of the Addendums you're using. Ex: "Early Education Addendum" field.

Note that any Addendums selected on the very first page of the instrument will show the related indicators in line with the Inspire Indicators. \ \ For example; Click "EE Indicator 5.4" to add additional comments, context, and evidence documents related to the Early Education Addendum Indicator 5.4.

Answer any pop up questions needed.\ Ex: Click the "Yes" field for Infant/Toddler standards.

"Infant-Toddler" Indicators will only show if you selected YES to the question on teh first page asking if your school has an Infant/Toddler program.

Fabric General Tools and Input Options

Clicking "SAVE" or "NEXT" will save your work on this page. \ SAVE keeps you on the same page. \ NEXT will save your work and advance you to the next page.

Click in any text field will allow you to type information.

Click "Add Row" when given as an option to add more information if needed.

Drop down options may also be available in some fields.

Narrative text boxes are equipped with rich text features and spell check for your convenience.

Clicking on any hyperlinked question title, will allow you to add comments or documents in some cases. \ Ex: "Background & Overview"

Clicking "Documents" allows you to see ALL Documents used anywhere in the Self-Study. \ \ NOTE: **This is NOT where you should upload documents.** Documents should be uploaded attached to a specific question or Indicator- see steps 27-37.

Clicking "Filters" will allow you to see just certain colored flags or filter on different ratings.

Selecting the "Ratings" option let's you select any type of rating and when clicking apply, will bring up the indicators throughout the entire self-study that were rated as such.

Select the "Flags" option allows you to filter only on Indicators that were marked with a specific color of flag. (See more information below)

Using Flags

Clicking the "flag" icon allows you to mark certain questions or indicators with more needs such as "Critical" or "Follow Up".

The different flag names and colors can be used however your school/team deems best.

Click "Apply" when you've chosen a flag to use on a particular item.

Also, clicking the "x" on the right side will return you to the listed pages navigation.

Indicators: Rating and Attaching Evidence

Click the box to the right of each indicator to choose your rating \ Ex: "--"

The ACSI Inspire rating scale can be found on each indicator.

Clicking the hyperlinked indicator number "Indicator 1.1" will bring up the option to leave a comment for your school members to see **OR to link an evidence document.**

Alert! Failure to **attach evidence to each indicator** may result in delay of your visit.\ Please follow these instructions carefully!

Click "+ Reference" to upload documents as evidence of meeting this indicator.

Click "Upload" to choose files from your computer to upload.\ You can upload multiple documents at one time, but only one may be assigned to a particular indicator at once.\ \ NOTE: If you bulk uploaded documents previously, you can click "Choose Existing" to choose a document from those that have already been upload.

Click "Save" when you have selected the document you wish to use as evidence for that indicator.

To add additional documents as evidence, click "+ Reference"

Click "Choose Existing" to view the list of all the documents you may have uploaded in previous steps.

Notice that you can see which document has been previously used as evidence to which indicator. Clicking "Select" will assign the next document you choose to this particular indicator.

Click the "Remarks" field allows you to add any brief comments if needed.

Click "Save"

Adding Comments

Click "Comments (0)" to leave any comments for your teammates as they work on the Self-Study or yourself as you come back to revisit items at a later date.

Click "+ Comments" to continue adding any new comments.

Type "Comments can be used to communicate to your Steering committee team members and supervisor/coordinator of the self-study as a whole."

Click "Save"

Clicking "Reply" is also an option to communicate with your team.

Click "Save"

Clicking the "x" at any time will return you to the page by page navigation.

Clicking "NEXT" will save your work on this page and advance you to the next page automatically.

Standard 11 Checklist

Regarding the Standard 11 checklist, comments can be made for each document upload in the checklist.

Prioritized Goals for Improvement

On the Conclusion page, clicking "Prioritized Goals for Improvement" will bring up a new window where you can list a Prioritized Goal as well as reflect on that particular goal.

Click "Add additional goal"

Fill in both text boxes here.

Click "Add" to add this goal and also start another one.

Click here.

Click "Done" if this is your final goal to be added to this section.

The "Accreditation Recommendation Ballot" will be blank, as that will be filled in by the visiting team during the Site Visit.

Tip!\ Click on the small hamburger menu in the top right corner of the Annual Report Instrument at any time while you're filling it out, and choose "export" to print a copy to review.

Tip!\ Always choose "Show Full Criterion" to make sure you're getting the entirety of the indicators and questions in the print out.

Alert! When your self-study is at it's completion, you may click "Submit" in the bottom right corner to send it off to your ACSI Divisional Office for distribution to your Visiting Team! Congratulations on completing this important school improvement tool!
