Searching for eBooks

This guide provides an update on searching for specific eBooks by author's name and title or searching for eBooks by subject after the latest library website updates (changes in the search bar).

Navigate to the library website <https://library.lutherrice.edu/>

Click the search box.

If you know the book you are looking for, type the author's last name and 3-4 keywords from the title of the book. Example: "Erickson Christian Theology" (In this case, I have used the full title.) Skip to step 10 for instructions on searching for eBooks by topic.

Click this icon.

You may asked to log in as a student. After logging in, you will arrive at the GALILEO results page. Click the "Source type" filter.

Click the "eBooks" checkbox option.

Click "Apply"

Click "Access options"

Click "PDF full text" (or ePub format for mobile).

**To find an eBook by topic:** Click the search box (either from the library homepage or on the GALILEO results page).

Type 2-4 keywords describing your topic of interest. Example: early Christian beliefs Press [[Enter or the Search Icon]]

Click the "Source type" filter

Click the eBooks option.

Click "Apply"

Click "Access options."

Click "PDF full text" (or ePub for mobile) to open the full text eBook. You will be able to browse through the book, use the table of contents, and search within the book.
