Applicant (Legal Guardian) Information

A form will generate to capture **Applicant (Caller)** information. - The section titled **Information of the Customer** is where the **caller’s details** must be entered. - If the **insured traveller is under the age of majority**, the **legal guardian** must complete this section on their behalf. - The **legal guardian** will automatically become the **Account Holder**. ⚠️ *The **Account Holder** (in this case, the legal guardian) is responsible for accessing and distributing the policy documentation to the insured traveller, as well as managing the policy through the Customer Portal.*

### **Complete the required fields.** 1. Enter the **caller’s email address**. - If the caller is not the insured, ensure their email address is used — this will serve as the Account Holder’s contact for accessing and managing the policy. Click **Save** to proceed. 💡**Tip:** *Once **Save** is clicked, an **Account** is automatically created for the caller and can be found under **Accounts**.*

Select **No** for the question **“Are you travelling as well?”** You’ll select **No** in this case because the **legal guardian** is **not travelling**.

1. At the top of the screen, confirm that an **Opportunity** has been created under the **Account Holder (Legal Guardian)**. - This can be verified by reviewing the **Contract Role**, which should show that **no role** is applied to the legal guardian. 2. Before adding an underage insured traveller, ensure the **Account Holder** is marked as valid with a green checkmark. - If this is not selected, the system will generate an error. 3. Select **Add Traveller** and enter the underage traveller’s information.

You can **search for an existing traveller** or select **New Traveller** if their information has not yet been saved in the system. **Existing Traveller:** Search for the traveller’s name to pull their record directly from **Accounts**. **New Traveller:** If the traveller has not purchased a contract through your office before, add them by completing the required fields. - Click **Save** to add the traveller to the contract.

If the **only traveller** on the policy is a **minor**, select **“No Primary Insured for this Contract.”** This option **removes the requirement** for an adult traveller on the policy, allowing the **legal guardian** to remain as the **Account Holder** while the **minor** is listed as the insured traveller.

Be sure to reference the **Selling a Policy** section within the **Travel Guide** for detailed instructions on completing the remaining steps. Once the application is finalized, the **policy information** will be sent to the **legal guardian**, who is listed as the **Policy Owner (Account Holder)**.
