Set Up Solicitations for Benevolence Fund

Follow these instructions to ensure that your local group can solicit online payments for Benevolence Fund donations from your active members at any time or for a specific benevolence purpose. Then invite your members to make a contribution by creating a News Post with a notification to your members.

Navigate to Groupable|m2, in the role of a Secretary or other Read/Write user account.

Ensure that you have Stripe Payments enabled for your local group

An Enabled Stripe Account will look like this:

Create the Solicitation Line for your Benevolence Fund

From a Local Overview screen, click "Dues & Arrears"

Click the Dues & Arrears Menu

Click "Manage Solicitations"

Click the PLUS symbol to add a new Solicitation Line

Type "Benevolence Fund"

Click the Account dropdown and select the "Income" option, which will activate the "+ new account"

Click the green + Account

Type "Benevolence"

Click the "Suggested Amount" field if you want to suggest an amount (this is optional, suggested amount can be left blank). Then check "Print On Dues Notice" if required. If you only want this to be present for online payments, leave this box unchecked.

Click this button to Create the Solicitation Line as configured. This line can be edited in the future by coming back to "Manage Solicitations".

Create a News Post / Invite Members to Contribute

From your Local Overview screen in groupable|m2, click "View In Connect"

From the Home screen, Click "News"

Create a News Post with all text and copy you wish to include, including images, and a link to the HOME screen.

To set visibility private to your members, select the right hand Visibility

Notify "My Group Members" to send emails to everyone in your local group with a valid email address

Click Save to send out the notification and post the News Post

Receive Contributions

Return to the Home screen for your local and click "Make A Payment". "Make a Payment" can be the URL link that you embed in your News Post.

Click "Benevolence Fund" and make the donation. Dues can be zeroed if you owe dues. Select "Pay Credit Card" or "Pay Debit Card" and "cover my debit card fees" for your local group.
