Set up Clever MFA

Clever’s MFA allows students to securely log into their Clever accounts using two different login methods (or factors) to ensure their data is secure and safe. MFA set up will occur during the month of March. Follow the steps below to set up either a PIN as the second factor, or a picture. All students must have their MFA set up by April 6, 2026. Click on your name in the top-right of the window

Select "MFA Settings" from the drop-down menu

Click on "Add Method" (don't worry about the warning sign)

You have the choice of using a badge (QR code) or a PIN (number you will remember) as your security method. **If you choose the badge method**, you will print out the QR code and use your computer web cam to scan the code when MFA is requested. We recommend printing one copy to leave at home, and one copy to keep in your backpack where no one else will have access to it. **If you choose the PIN method,** you will enter a number that only you should know and remember. Do not use your birthday, your cell number, or your address as those are the first things hackers guess!

Once you've selected your choice, click "Next step":

If you chose the PIN method, you will enter your number, then confirm by entering a second time:

If you chose the Badge method, you will click the "Download and print badge" button. The file will be saved to your device where you will then need to print at least 2 copies.

Click the "Next Step" button to complete your MFA setup.
