This guide shows how to setup standard approval and review chains on templates in Canveo

Canveo differentiates between Reviews and Approvals:\ \ **1. Reviews:** Support in reviewing an entire agreement, often requested of the Legal Team. **2. Approvals:** Approvals for specific, isolated points within the agreement, often requested of senior stakeholders (e.g. VP of Sales, or Finance Director). Both types can be set up on the template level, as Standard Review/Approval Chains. For example, if on your MSA template, you set up a Standard Approval Chain that requires approval from a Finance Director and then a VP of Sales, such chain will be available on any agreement created using that MSA template.

Select "Legal" from the app section selector (you need to be a Legal or Admin user in order to see it)

Make sure you are in the "Templates" section

Click on an existing template to open it

**If the template is currently active:** Deactivate it by clicking the button in the upper-right corner and selecting "Deactivate this version"
Set Up Standard Approval Chains

In the side menu, click "Approvals"

Select the tab "For Agreements based on this Template". This will allow you to create template/default chains, as opposed to actual requests to get the current template approved (which you could do using the tab on the right).

Click "New"

Click the "plus" icon in order to add one or more standard approvers

Select the appropriate approver(s), and then submit. From now on, this chain will be available on any agreement created using this template.

Re-activate your template (if it had been deactivated or is a new one)

In the side menu, click "Approvals"

Click "Reviews"

Click "New"

Click the "plus" icon in order to add one or more standard reviewers

Select the appropriate reviewer, and then submit. From now on, this chain will be available on any agreement created using this template.
