Setting up a Footer Menu

This guide provides instructions for setting up a footer menu on a RCCL site. A footer is the bottom portion of a site that's visible on every page (like the header and main navigation).

A website's footer is a great place to provide a set of secondary links, as well as repeat important links from the main navigation. The RCCL provides six menu blocks by default which can be customized to group links together.

**Note:** A footer can also be a good place to list information like addresses, phone numbers, or other important text. The RCCL currently doesn't provide this functionality out of the box – If your site's footer requires this type of customization, speak with a web developer.

Configuring Footer Blocks

Navigate to **Structure > Block layout** in the content management system.

Scroll down to the **Footer** section and click [[configure ]]to update the footer display title. To rearrange the order of the footer blocks, click the arrow icons to drag the blocks around as needed and click [[Save blocks]].

In the configure screen, you can change the default display title of the footer blocks. Make sure the [[Display title ]]box is checked off before saving a block.

The social media footer block contains a list of various platforms. Fill in the URLs as needed to display social media icon links in the footer.

Adding Footer Menu Links

Navigate to **Structure > Menus** to see the list of footer menus associated with each footer block. For easier maintenance, it's a good practice to update the default titles for both the footer menus and footer blocks.

Click [[edit menu]] and update each menu's title as necessary.

To add links to a footer menu, click [[Add link ]]and fill out the necessary fields before saving.
