Setting up the Customer Portal

This tutorial will show you how to set up the customer portal on your Squeegee account. Click into "Portal Directory", then head to "Settings".

You will need to "Enable Hosted Portal" so that your customers can have access to it.

Select a "URL Handle", this could be your business name, and type this into the bar as highlighted below. Make sure there aren't any spaces included in this! If you want to break up the words use a "-".

You can the adjust the theme colours that the customer will see. Click into "Edit Theme" and then select from the colour options that best fit your business.

You can then adjust the colours to different shades if you would like.

Click "Apply" to save these adjustments.

Next, you have the option to "Customise the text content of your portal". You can adjust what the customer will see for each field, as shown. Make sure you click "Save" in the top right corner after each change.

You can add or remove prepay options on the portal quote and prepay widget.

And then adjust "Widget Settings"

Click "Appointment History" - you can allow customers to see their appointment history or turn this setting off.\ \ Click "Save" before moving on.

Click into "Automatic Payments" to show/hide Stripe and GoCardless options. Click "Save" before moving on.

Click "Book Appointment" to adjust the settings on there as shown.\ \ Click "Save" before moving on.

Click "Portal Chat". You can set opening/closing times for the portal chat through here by switching the toggle to on, then either clicking on the little clock icon or by adjusting the time manually. You can turn this off by switching the toggle back to off. Click "Save" before moving on.

You can adjust the "Edit Profile" and "Financial History" settings as shown. Click "Save" before moving on.

There are "Profile" settings. Click "Save" before moving on.

"Sign in" settings. Click "Save" before moving on.

You can allow cancellation or not on "Today's Appointment" settings. Click "Save" before moving on.

In the "Upcoming Appointments" section, you can adjust how many upcoming appointments per job the customer can see, or set this to 0 to disable the limit. Click "Save" before moving on.

You can then upload your business logo and cover image from a saved attachment in the Squeegee app, by clicking "Upload" > selecting the image.

You can then enter your business name and business description.

Enter your contact details (business number, email & address).

Click "Advertised Services" and then choose the services you offer from the pop-up list (you can select multiple). Then click "Done".

There are more settings in "Other". "Your Portal ID" can be found under the first category in "Other" - where the orange strip is on this image. You can then copy this using the "Copy" button.

Click "Save & Publish"

Then you can head into "Layouts" to adjust the view of your customer portal.

The order you add widgets in will be the order they appear for the customer. We would recommend you start with a "Welcome Card"

Then drag the bottom right corner with the little arrow to make the widget size larger and more accessible for the customer.

In this example, I will include the "Upcoming Appointments", "Appointment History", "Chat' and "Sign Out" widgets. You can also move the widgets around, although this may not change the view for the customer, since the order you attach a widget will be the order they see it in.

You can then view it as any of your customers by clicking on the settings toggle, click into the "View As" field and select a customer from the drop down menu or by searching their name.

You can also adjust the widget settings from this layout page by clicking on the settings toggle in the top right of each widget.\ \ Click "Save" before moving on.

Click "Save & Publish".
