Student Employment Portal: Basic Applicant Review

This guide provides a straightforward process for reviewing candidate applications on the NeoEd platform, ensuring that you can efficiently assess applicants' qualifications, including their work history and skills. By following these steps, you can easily navigate the dashboard, track applicant statuses, and make informed decisions about potential hires. Utilizing this guide will streamline your recruiting efforts, saving you time and enhancing the quality of your candidate evaluations.

Navigate to the [NeoEd Dashboard](https://login.neoed.com/authentication/saml/login/bgsu).

Navigate to the "Recruiting" tab.

Click "My Candidates."

Click the job title of the posting you want to review candidates for.

Click the name of the applicant you want to review.

The student’s application will appear on the screen.

On this screen, you can review the applicant’s contact information and personal details relevant to the position.

Their employment history is also available, outlining previous roles and experience.

In addition, the screen displays the candidate’s educational background.

Lastly, you can assess their listed skills to determine alignment with the job requirements.

At the bottom of the application screen, you’ll find download links for any materials the student uploaded.

**Actions** – With limited exceptions, Student Employment recommends not using the options under the Actions dropdown for student employment candidates. **Send Notices** – Use this only for rejection notices. Instructions are linked on the [Supervisors page](https://www.bgsu.edu/student-employment-services/supervisors.html) under “Training.” **Offers** – Do not use “Send Notices” to issue offer letters. A workflow using “Move to Offered” is being developed, and instructions will be posted on the Supervisors page when available. **Hiring** – Do not use “Move to Hired.” After selecting your candidate(s), complete hiring through [Student E-Hire](https://www.bgsu.edu/student-employment-services/supervisors/e-hire.html). **Approvals** – No approvals are required for student employment candidates. If you select an action that prompts HR, Compliance, or other approvals, stop. This indicates either a mistake or an action not intended for student employment.

Click the "Print" button to open a printable (or exportable) summary of the application.
