Students - Guide to submit assignment requiring both document and video submissions

This guide for students shows the step for assignments requiring both a file upload (such as docx, xlsx, pptx or pdf), as well as a video upload (ie mp4). Section A outlines the steps for File upload in File Submissions section. Section B outlines the steps for Video upload in Online text section. You may skip to section B if your assignment ONLY requires Video upload.

Navigate to your LMS unit, in this example, MBS538 T2 25.

Go to your assignment, in this case: "SUBMIT Here Assessment 1: Self-Introduction Video and Script (Individual) – 20% Assignment"

Click "Add submission"

Tick the Assignment declaration

If your assignment ONLY requires a VIDEO upload, skip section 1 and go straight to section B of this guide to upload your video file with Echo as below.

A) Upload document in File submissions

File submissions is used to upload smaller size files such as doc, docx, pdf, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx, rtf etc. Note that it should not be used to upload video files (large size files) as the recommendation is to upload all video files in the Online Text section using the Echo tool.

Note that large powerpoint files using video embeds may not upload correctly in the File submissions and may instead need to be converted a a video file (ie mp4) before being uploaded in Online text section via Echo tool.

Click on File icon.

Select "Upload a file" - "Choose file". Select the file from your desktop or folders.

Click "Upload this file". Once the file is uploaded, it will show in your File submissions box.

B) Upload video to Echo and link to your assessment

This section will show step by step how to upload your video file in your assignment, in the Online Text section, using the Echo tool. It involves 2 main steps, detailed below: 1. 'Upload video content' in Echo 2. Link your video to the assessment.

Tip! If your video file is already in Echo, you can go straight to 'Launch Media Picker' Step 13.

Click on "Echo plugin" tool to upload your video.

**Click "Upload Media"** in the "Upload Content" section.

Click "Select Files to Upload"

Select your video file on your desktop - "Upload".

It will show "Files uploaded successfully". (This may take a few minutes depending on the size of your file.) Click "Close". **Please keep going to the next step, you have not finished.**

**Click "Launch Media Picker" to link your video to your assessment.**

Select the video file you have just uploaded, and click "Next". (note it may still show as greyed out if still being processed in Echo)

IMPORTANT: Your video file name should now be listed in the box as shown below. **Click "Save changes".**

You might see a message "Not yet ready"as below, which is normal as the file may still be processing in Echo.

Once the file has been processed, it will display as shown below.

Congratulations, you have now successfully submitted your video .
