Accessing the School's Self-Study

You have received an email welcoming you to an ACSI Accreditation Visit Team. \ Though the visit may still be months away, please make sure to mark the dates on your calendar. \ \ The school may not have completed their Self-Study quite yet, so when you log in to Fabric and choose the My Items persona, you may not yet see anything. \ \ Rest assured, you will receive another email (see below) when you can begin reviewing the school's Self-Study and evidence.\ \ **NOTE: Any time you're working on Reviews, you'll want to make sure you're in the "My Items" Persona**

**Once the school has completed and submitted their Self-Study**, **you will receive an email** stating that you have been assigned to a "Review." \ \ This is where you will do your "Visiting Team Report" work. You will have access to the school's Self-Study and all evidence documents in Fabric. \ \ Use the "Click here to access" hyperlink at the bottom of the email to access Fabric and the school's Self-Study.
While that direct access link can help you access the school's Self-Study Instrument along with their evidences, alternatively, you can also find the Instrument you've been assigned to review on your dashboard on the "**My Items**" persona under "**Items for Attention**":\ \ NOTE: If you're assigned to more than 1 team at a time, you may have several schools listed here.

When click on the direct access link, you will be sent to a screen looking like this:\ \ This is the navigation screen for this instrument. Clicking on any page will get you IN to the instrument to start working. \ You can navigate to any of them to start, whether your chair has assigned you that Domain or not.

If you happen to be in another area of Fabric, such as your school's Organization Representative" persona, you can navigate to the school's Self-Study by clicking on your initials in the top right corner of any screen.

Find the school's Self-Study on your **My Items** persona dashboard under **"Items for Attention"**\ \ NOTE: If you're assigned to more than 1 team at a time, you may have several schools listed here.
Viewing Evidence

Viewing each indicator's evidences happens right in Fabric. \ Click the document icon with the number of documents uploaded right next to the Indicator.\ Click "1"

Here is where you'll see the names of documents that have been attached to this Indicator as evidence. Clicking on the name of the document "Parent Handbook (Revised 7_9_26).docx.pdf" will allow you to view it.\ \ **Please Note:** Your browser settings may send each document to your "Downloads" folder OR may open each document automatically.\ \ For any pdf documents, you'll also have the option to "preview" the document in your browser instead of downloading.
Change the School's Rating

If after reviewing the school's evidences, you'd like to change the school's rating of this indicator, click the Hyperlinked indicator number then click the word "Change" under to the indicator.

This will allow you to then click the bubble with the rating as the school entered it.\ Then choose the rating you would like to change this indicator to from the drop down.
Commenting on Indicators

You can also leave comments for other team members or yourself to view when you're on site. \ Click the hyperlinked question/Indicator title Ex: "Indicator 3.6"\ Click "Review" on the right side

Click "+ Comments"

Type any comment you'd like to leave for another team member or yourself. \ NOTE: These cannot be seen by the school.

Using Flags

Flags are also available for your use to help remind you of items to gather/observe onsite.\ \ Clicking on any hyperlinked name of a question will bring up the navigation on the right with the flag icon.

Click the color or type of flag you'd like to assign.

Drafting Commendations and Recommendations

At the bottom of the Domain page, you can record your Commendations and Recommendations. \ Click "Add Row" to add a new Commendation.

If you have NO Commendations or Recommendations in any one of these charts, please +Add Row and Type N/A in the Statement and Description boxes. \ \ This alerts our schools and ACSI staff that you **meant** to leave that section blank.

When ready to start drafting Commendations and Recommendations, click the box and enter the indicator number(s) that your commendation references.

Draft a concise statement starting with an [Action Verb.](https://acsipdp.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/Accreditation/Team+Documents/Action+Verbs.pdf)\ \ This should be a one to two sentence statement of fact that describes a program or initiative at the school and the result of that initiative in terms of the outcomes for students.

Draft a brief description of what the team saw which explains why this commendation was warranted.

Select the evidence the team used in making the decision.

Click "Add Row" to add more Commendations.
Alert! The Major Commendations and Accreditation Action Items will be decided on and completed as a team near the end of the visit. \ \ These should not be completed ahead of the visit.

Copy any Commendations from above that would rise to the designation of "MAJOR Commendations" into this chart below:\ \ (These will be also inserted into a chart with only Major Commendations at the very end of the team report)\ \ \* Select the box for "No Data Available" if the team did not want to list a Major Commendation in this Domain, and please type N/A in the Statement and Description boxes.

Repeat that process for Recommendations and Accreditation Action Items.\ Click "NEXT" to advance to the next page.

Standard 11 Checklist

Completing the Ballot

To complete the Ballot when the team has completed and proofed all work, navigate to the "Accreditation Recommendation Ballot" page
