Troop General Settings and Find A Troop

This guide is helpful for troop leaders looking to efficiently manage their Troop's information and enhance communication with prospective members. It provides step-by-step instructions on updating charter organization details, meeting locations, and administrative settings, ensuring that your troop's information is accurate and accessible and offers tools for tracking dues and customizing contact forms, making it easier to engage with potential members.

Navigate to <https://www.traillifeconnect.com/dashboard>, click **Troop Settings**, and then **General Settings**.

Charter Organization Details

The **Charter Organization Details** provide key information about your chartered organization.\ \ This includes the organization address, phone number, and website, as well as the current **Chartered Organization Ministry Agreement (COMA)** and history of COMAs and signers.

**Troop Meeting Location** allows you to directly update your Troops information at [www.FindATroop.com](https://www.FindATroop.com).\ \ Meeting location, phone, website, and an overview of your Troop are all editable fields.

This section also allows you to update the meeting days and time, as well as when the program year starts for your Troop, and share this information with Find A Troop.

General Settings

**General Settings** allows a few different administrative features for your Troop: - **Show youth birthdays on calendar** will display youth Trailmen's birthdays on your Troop's calendar. - **Show skill set / profession fields on user profiles** allows those with profile viewing access to see skills of other adults, which can be helpful in program and resource planning - **Require skill set / profession fields on user profiles** requires that anyone signing up as a parent or leader has to complete these fields. This can be helpful for identifying adult capabilities and recruiting new leaders. - **Track Troop Dues** simply allows the tracking of when a member has paid Troop dues. *Please note: this is not an accounting function, but a timestamp.*

Troop Support & Find a Troop

The **Troop Support & Find a Troop** section contains administrative functions for your Troop and Find a Troop map. - **Troop Level Support Contact Person** is the first level in Levels of Support if an existing member of your Troop has a question or needs assistance. - **Find a Troop Status** allows you to give information to the Find a Troop map to prospective members regarding the ability to join your Troop. *Please see the screenshot or tool in TLC for these details.* - **Find a Troop Contacts** allows you to designate adult leaders who will receive emails and interact with prospective members reaching out through the Find a Troop map. - **Use Connect Form** provides a customizable contact form allowing prospects to connect directly with your Troop. *Please see the next section for details on this feature.*

Use Customizable Connect Form

Click on ***Click here to customize*** under the Use Connect Form option.

This page allows you to copy and/or embed an iFrame into your Troop or organization's website to reach out directly to your Troop. You may find this more usable than simply providing a link to www.FindATroop.com.

**Contact Page Instructions** allows you to customize the information that is presented to prospective members in the embeded information.

You can also add a request for additional information from prospective members reaching out by selecting the appropriate boxes.

Once updates are completed, click **Update** to return to the general settings page.

Complete Update

Be sure to click **Update** to save any changes you may have made!
