Update clients in Copilot when a Assembly (formerly Copilot) form is submitted

Make

As of September 30, 2025, we’ve rebranded to Assembly. The steps below remain the same. When searching in Make, look for Assembly (formerly Copilot) and this logo.

Create a new scenario in Make

Click the + button to add a trigger. Search for and select "Copilot"

Click "Watch Completed Forms"

Click "Add" or "Create a webhook"

Name your webhook in Make

Open the dropdown

Select the form you want to use for this trigger

Click "Save"

Click "Copy address to clipboard"

In a new tab go to the Copilot Dashboard

Click "Settings"

Click "API"

Click "New webhook"

Label the webhook and paste the webhook URL from Make into the Endpoint URL field

Click the "Events to send" field.

Click "form_response.completed"

Click "Update"

Click "Confirm"

Back in Make, click "OK" to finish setting up the trigger

Now it's time to test the trigger by submitting the form as your test client. Right-click here

Click "Run this module only"

In your Copilot Dashboard, assign the form for this trigger to your test client

Click "Portal"

Click "Open portal" and log in as your test client

Click "Forms"

Complete the form used for the trigger and submit.

Back in Make, you should see that the trigger ran successfully

Add a new module and select “Copilot”

Click "Retrieve a Client"

Click here.

Click "Client ID"

Click "OK"

If your form has a field to update a client's tags, you'll need to add the Retrieve Custom Fields Options module shown in steps 33-44. If you don't need to update tags, skip to step 45.

Open the dropdown

Select the field you're using for client tags.

Click here.

Click "\[1\]" to map the answer in your form to the custom field label

We recommend using the single-select form field for questions that will update tags, since the response must exactly match the tag in your portal.

Click "OK"

Add a new module and select “Copilot”

Click "Update a Client"

Click here.

Click "Client ID"

Click here.

Click "Given Name"

Click here.

Click "Family Name"

The rest of the steps show how to update custom fields from a form response. The example here uses URL, Address, and Tags custom fields. Yours may be different, but all you need to do is map the form answers to the corresponding custom fields in this module.
