Updating User Profile (including email)

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to update and complete your user profile on a platform. It covers various sections such as general information, contact details, subjects, grades, demographics, and communication preferences. Within your profile is where you can also update your account email.

Your Profile is completed with some of the information provided during the Registration Process, which includes: - [[Subjects areas supported]] - [[Grade levels supported]] - [[Professional Roles]] - [[School/ Institutions / Organization user is affiliated with]] Other Profile information is completed after Registration is complete and you log into the platform for the first time, which includes: - [[Profile Image]] - [[About Me]] - [[Contact Information]] - [[Update communications preferences from the default]]

To update information or complete your profile, *access* your Profile and then *click* on the pencil icon to manage your profile

General Information Tab

The **About You** modal will display. From here, you can *select* various tabs to update or add your Profile. The first tab is **General Information.** From here, update the following: - Name - Job title - State - Schools/ Institution or Organization - Add a Little Out You Section - Add or update your Profile picture When you are done with this tab, *click* **Save.**

Contact Tab (& Manage Account Email)

The second tab is **Contact.** From here, update the following: - Manage Account Emails - Phone Number - Social Media Information - Facebook - X - TikTok - LinkedIn When you are done with this tab, *click* **Save.**

Subjects Tab

The third tab is **Subjects.** From here, update the following: - *Select* the **subject areas** most applicable to your role or interest **Tip:** *The subjects you select will allow the platform recommendation engine to recommend public objects to you in the platform that match selected subject areas.* When you are done with this tab, *click* **Save.**

Header Title

The fourth tab is **Grades.** From here, update the following: - *Select* the **Grade Levels** most applicable to your role or interest **Tip:** *The grade levels you select will allow the platform recommendation engine to recommend public objects to you in the platform that match selected grades.* When you are done with this tab, *click* **Save.**

Demographic Tab

The fifth tab is **Demographic.** From here, update the following: - *Select* the **Demographic information** most applicable to your role or interest **Tip:** *The Demographic Information you select will allow the platform recommendation engine to recommend public objects to you in the platform that match demographics.* When you are done with this tab, *click* **Save.**

Communication Preferences Tab

The last tab is **Communication Preferences.** From here, update the following: - *Select* the preferred **Communication Preferences** The Platform has a **Notification Center** and a **Message (email) Center**. You can *set* your **Communication Preferences** that dictate **IF** and **HOW OFTEN** you receive Notifications and Messages to your registered email. When you are done with this tab, *click* **Save.**
