Using GoGuardian for Illuminate Testing

Navigate to [https://www.rvaschools.net/staff-portal/academic-resources/elementary](https://www.rvaschools.net/staff-portal/academic-resources/elementary)

Click the grade level and subject area you will be testing in

Always start by looking at the pacing calendar

Locate the assessment

If the assessment isn't linked on the Pacing Calendar, locate the separate document where assessments are listed

Identify the unique Illuminate ID

Highlight then right click to copy or use the shortcut Ctrl+C

In a new tab, navigate to [https://clever.com/in/richmond/teacher](https://clever.com/in/richmond/teacher)

Open up Illuminate

Click "View Assessments"

Click "All Assessments"

Press [[ctrl]] + [[v]]

In the search box, paste the Illuminate Test ID by right-clicking then hitting paste or using the shortcut Ctrl+V and then click "Search"

Click the "Action" drop down menu

Click "Administer"

Click "Test with Quick Code"

Click "Edit"

Click "Show" after "Tool Settings"

If you have students that require audio read-alouds as part of their accommodation, click the "Enable" field for TTS Question and Passage. If you do not, please disregard this step.

Click the "Enable" field for both "Highlighting" and "Color Contrast" for ALL students so they can have practice using these features for their SOLs

Click "Save"

If the first session you created included audio read-aloud accommodations, you will need to create a second test session for students without this accommodation. Click "Test with Quick Code"

The testing session on top will be the newer session. Click "Edit"

Click "Online Testing - Tool Settings Show"

Click the "Enable" field for both "Highlighting" and "Color Contrast" for ALL students so they can have practice using these features for their SOLs

Click "Save"

The session on top will be for students without read-alouds and the session below will be for students with read-alouds. To share the code with students, click the blue link under "Access Code."

Highlight the link provided to share with students then either right click, copy or use the CTRL + C shortcut

Back in Clever, open up "GoGuardian"

Click "Start Class" if your class isn't running yet, or "Go To Class" if it's already running

Click "Apply a Scene"

Once all students are logged in, click the "Select All" field.

Click here.

Click "Illuminate Testing Screen"

Click "Apply Scene"

Click "Open Tab"

Select the students that need the test link WITHOUT read-aloud accommodations

Click "Next"

Click the "Enter the new tab URL" field.

Paste the link into the "Enter the new tab URL" field by right click, paste or using the shortcut CTRL+V. Then click "Open Tab"

Back in Illuminate, if students need the read-aloud accommodation, select the second Access Code and follow steps 36-40. After return to Illuminate to open "Live Proctoring" for each session to monitor students results. Toggle between Live Proctoring and Illuminate to monitor students' progress.
