Green Button - Connect My Data allows utility customers to easily, quickly, and securely share their energy consumption data with third-party applications and services. With the implementation of this feature in ETB Developer, we hope to simplify the data collection process for our users, reducing administrative overhead and ensuring the accuracy of the utility data.
1
In the nav bar of ETB Developer, you will now see a new 'Green Button' dropdown.
2
In this dropdown, you can send a data request to your customer and access your 'Green Button Dashboard'.
ETB Developer Green Button Dashboard
3
When you click the 'Green Button Dashboard' link in the navbar dropdown, you will be brought to the Beta Dashboard, where you can view any pending data requests and active meters you have access to.
Sending a Green Button data request
4
There are 3 areas you can send a customer data request in the ETB Developer platform: 1. The Navbar 2. The Green Button Dashboard 3. In the Energy Use Profile progression
5
No matter which path you come from, the form will be the same. Fill in the required fields to send the request.
6
At anytime before or after you send the requests, you can preview the email your customer will receive, by clicking the "Preview request email" link, in the request modal.
7
By clicking the customer name in the Pending Data Request table, you will be brought to the request modal, where you can resend and/or cancel the request.
8
Once the end customer has authorized sharing their data, you will receive two more emails. One to notify you that your request was approved.
9
And another to notify you when the data is ready to be used in your proposal. Note: Some utilities can take up to 2 business days to send over historical data.
End Customer Workflow
10
When a request has been sent from the ETB Developer platform, an invitation will be sent to the email address you provided in the request form. When the customer receives the email, they will first click the "View my Invitation" button. NOTE: the requestor will also be CC'd on this email.
11
A page will open in their browser that requests they review the detail you provided to be sure they are the correct customer. Once confirmed, they will click "Share my data."
12
A new window will open, navigating the customer to their utility. They will need to use their utility credentials to log in.
At this point, the workflow varies per Utility. However, the customer should easily be able to approve your request to obtain their data.
13
After approving the request, the customer will receive another email letting them know they have successfully shared their data.
