Navigate to the IRS Direct Pay website: <https://www.irs.gov/payments/direct-pay-with-bank-account>

Click "Make a Payment"

Click "Pay individual tax"

Click "Make a payment"

Select the "Balance Due" option.

Select the "Income Tax - Form 1040" option.

Select the tax year for which you are making a payment.

Click "Continue"

Click "Continue" to confirm

IRS DirectPay uses your previous year's tax return to verify your identity. Click here to select the year you wish to use for verification.

For example, if you are paying for 2024 taxes due, you will verify your identity using your 2023 tax return information since that tax return has already been fully processed by the IRS.

Fill out your Filing Status and the Name of the "primary taxpayer" (person listed first on your previous year's tax return).

Click the "I accept" field and Click "Continue".

The next screen is where you will enter your banking information (routing and account number) to pay the amount you choose.

Please Print/Save the confirmation screen that shows Date & Amount Paid, and **upload to your Canopy client portal**.
