Using registration settings to create a 3 day event

With Offstreet's event settings you need a start date and time and expiry date and time. In some instances users might not be there for all 3 days and would only need to register for the days they are there. Hosts wants a more flexible option to give the end user. In this guide we will show you how to create a multi-day event option where users can register for an event with specific dates. The registration link https://portal-test.offstreet.io/location/TMMPD0VD allows for multi day options.

In this step by step guide we will show you how to create an event registration with the following options:

Navigate to your Offstreet dashboard[https://dashboard.offstreet.io/](https://dashboard-test.offstreet.io/location/11929)

Select the location where you want your guests to park. Once you are on the location create your event as a tenant by clicking on the "create" button.

Name your event, e.g., "Annual Science Fair 2024" and toggle the "Lookup Link" option to automatically generate an event/registration link.

Optionally, you can auto-create a registration management security group.

Click "Visit" to go straight to the tenant / event.

Click "View Tenant Details" to modify any tenant and portal information, such as tenant name, logo, and instructions.

Use the tenant identifier for your billing code.

Click "Create" under registration settings at the bottom of the tenant page.\ \ Take note of where the registration link is, this is the link you will send guests to register for parking.

Open the registration link in a separate tab and test it as you add settings to the event.

Edit the "Registration Settings Name" field, e.g., "November 20th." and enable the setting in the portal to allow users to register via the online link.

Set the "Fixed Start Date," "Start Time," and "Expiry Time." Ensure the permit expires on the same day by setting "Number of Days" to 0.

Save the settings.

You can use additional settings if needed. Such as limiting the number of registrations, set a registration cut-off date, or require a unique code for registration.

Click the "Info" tab to collect additional guest details, such as First Name, Last Name, and Email address. You can choose whether to make these fields mandatory.

Click "Create"

In the "Info" tab, specify the required guest information, such as First Name, Last Name, and role (e.g., Guest, Exhibitor, Volunteer).

Try and make the registration process for the guest as easy as possible so only ask for information that you absolutely have to have. We only used this as an example but if you do not need that information, you do not have to add information.

If applicable, click "Pricing" to define the event pricing. Whether a flat fee, daily/nightly rates, or a custom rate table.

Select the best option, in this option we selected a flat rate of $5.00 per registration.

Go back to the General tab.

Duplicate the registration settings for each event day (e.g., 21 November 2024 and 22 November 2024) by selecting the location and tenant, editing the date, and saving the changes.

For a 3-day registration option, duplicate the settings, edit the name to "20-22 November 2024," and set the expiry time to 2 days.

Edit the name to 21 November 2024 for the next option. Click "Fixed Start Date" to edit the date accordingly.

Once edited click "Save" for the 21st November 2024 option.

Repeat this process for the 22nd of November. Click "Duplicate"

Select the location and tenant. Edit the name to the required date. Edit the date and save.

To create the last option of 20th - 22nd of November Click "Duplicate"

Follow the steps as before. Edit the name accordingly.

If you want this option last in the portal, add in -5 or any number less than 0 in the sort priority input.

Edit the "Fixed Start Date" to 20 November and then click on "Expiry Time is Set in Days"

Click the "Number of Days " field and enter 2 - it will expire in 2 days at 11:59. You can achieve the same with settings: Expiry Time (11:59) and Fixed Expiry date (22 November 2024) instead of "Expiry Time is Set in days - it will achieve the same outcome.

Click "Save". As this is a 3 day event you will also adjust your pricing to $15 in the flat rate for this option or the agreed upon rate for the full event.
