Verify .vcl Compatibility between WorksManager and Siteworks (Publishing Handheld Designs)

In your account page click on your **Devices** tab.

In your device list, find and click on the handheld device you wish to publish a .vcl design to.

In order to publish a .vcl design to a handheld collector Siteworks must be running version **1.75 or up.**

The device info panel will open on the right. If the field software is reporting lower than 1.75, check the Siteworks version on the collector, you may need to update it through TIM.

It is common for WorksManager to report an inaccurate Field Software or not report one at all when initially adding a device to a project. This will occur if the handheld device has never reported to WorksManager or has not reported to WorksManager in a long time. In order to get the collector to report, a sync must be performed inside the project boundaries defined on WorksManager. This sync will send an updated status message to WorksManager.

Check to see if you have a **Status Message** available for the device you have selected at the bottom of the device info panel. If you do not have a status message available, you will need to perform a sync of the device with WorksManager inside of the project boundaries. Once this is complete, a status message will now be available. Click on it to open it up.

Next to app version verify it says 1.75 or higher. If no info is available perform a sync of the device with WorksManager inside of the project boundaries. This will force the collector to report to WorksManager and update the status message.

Once your data collector is actively reporting a Field Version of 1.75 you will be able to sync a .vcl design to the device.
