Zoom
1
Navigate to the Zoom Whiteboard Link provided to you in Canvas. You will receive a Zoom Whiteboard link, which we will use throughout the workshop.
There will be three separate whiteboard pages, each representing a different scenario. As an individual participant, you may not interact with all three pages, but we will begin by demonstrating how to navigate to each one. We’ll also show you how to move between the pages, use the sticky note feature, and take advantage of the drag-and-drop and typing functions. This brief walkthrough will ensure that everyone is familiar with the platform and able to participate fully.

At the top of your assigned whiteboard page, you’ll see the full case scenario typed out. You may need to **zoom in** on the whiteboard to read it clearly. If you prefer not to zoom in or have trouble viewing it, the same scenario is also included in your participant packet for easy reference.
**Tip:** You can always return to the **pages panel** to navigate between different whiteboard pages. Just click the **box with numbers** in the **top left-hand corner** of your screen to reopen the list of pages. This allows you to switch between scenarios at any time during the session.
Navigating to a New Activity
5
When you’re given an activity, you’ll need to navigate to the specific section of the whiteboard where the activity is located. To do this, **press and hold the spacebar** on your keyboard—this will allow you to **click and drag** the whiteboard, so you can move to the appropriate area.
**Tip:** If you’re having trouble finding your way around the whiteboard, look to the **bottom right-hand corner** of your screen. Next to the hand icon, you’ll see a **map icon**—clicking this will open a **mini-map** that shows an overview of the entire whiteboard. This can help you quickly locate and navigate to different sections.

Tip! **Tip:** If you’d rather create a new sticky note instead of dragging one over, you can do that by clicking the **sticky note icon** in the Zoom Whiteboard toolbar (usually located on the left side of your screen). Choose the matching color, then **click in the activity Box** to place the new sticky note and start typing.

**Tip:** If you’d prefer not to drag a star or check mark, you can use the **stamp tool** instead. Click on the **smiley icon** in the Zoom Whiteboard toolbar (usually on the left side of your screen), then select the **star, check mark, or other shape** you want to use. Once selected, you can **click anywhere on the whiteboard** to place the stamp directly where you want it.
Alert! **Zooming Can Be Tricky** One of the most challenging parts of using Zoom Whiteboard is **zooming in and out**. You’ll find the **magnifying glass icons** for zooming located in the **bottom-right corner** of your screen. The plus (+) icon zooms in, and the minus (–) icon zooms out. You can also use your mouse scroll wheel if you're on a desktop or laptop.\ \ **If you find yourself accidentally resizing objects instead of moving or selecting them, it’s likely because you’re not zoomed in enough.** Try zooming in further for better control and to avoid unintentional changes.
Using the Left Toolbar

**Tip:** To interact with objects on the whiteboard—like clicking, selecting, dragging, or typing—you’ll need to make sure you’re using the **arrow pointer tool**. If you're having trouble clicking on something, check the toolbar on the left and **select the arrow icon** to switch back to the pointer. This ensures you're in the correct mode for interacting with the board.
