Navigate to NotionApps and follow the sign-up process.\
\
Once you're logged in to your NotionApps dashboard, click "**App Templates**"

Select the "**Employee Directory**" template

Click here to open the Employee Directory template.

Click this icon to duplicate the template to your Notion account.

Click "**Add to Private**". It may take a few minutes to add the template to your account.

Go back to NotionApps and Click "**Next**"

Find and select the "**Employee Directory**"

Ensure "**Employee Directory**" is selected as the Notion Template and click "**Clone App**"

Tip! If you do not see "Employee Directory" listed in the Notion template drop-down menu, press Refresh. You may have to do this a few times as it can take a few minutes to sync within NotionApps.

Run through the short tour by reading the notes and clicking "**Next**"

When you've finished the tour, click "**Done**"

Take a few moments to click around the app so you can get a feel for how it's structured. \

In this example, we only need to create an employee directory app that's managed by one person in HR, so let's start by removing the screens we don't need from the app.\
\
Click "**Edit Navigation**"

In the "**Bottom Navigation**" section, select this navigation item. This is a screen that currently exists within the template for annual leave requests, which we don't need for this use case.

Now you're going to repeat this process for the other navigation items and screens that we don't need.\

Click "**Edit Navigation**"

In the "Bottom Navigation" section, select the "**All Leaves**" item.

Next you'll delete the "**Birthdays**" navigation item and screen from the template.\

Click "**Edit Navigation**"

Click the "**Birthdays**" navigation item.

Now you'll do the same, but for the side navigation.\

Click the "**Your Profile**" navigation item within the side navigation.

Now you're going to add a LinkedIn profile link as a new item in the database, which you can then add as a component within your app.\
\
Open the **Employees** table within Notion, navigate to the final field in the table and click the + icon.

Add an example LinkedIn profile URL for all employees in the table.

You can apply an example URL to all employees in the table by clicking this item and dragging it down for all employee records.

Once you've finished, head back to NotionApps.

Click on one of the employee records within the app.

You're now going to add a component to this screen. You're going to add a button to each employee's LinkedIn profile.\

Click this icon to add a component.

Here you can view a variety of components that can be added within screens. \
\
In this example, you need to select the Button component.

Click your newly added Button component. At the moment it's set to the property "**View Month**" but you're going to change that now to the LinkedIn URL.

Click the drop-down "**View Property**" menu.

Change the button text to "**LinkedIn Profile**"

Change the button colour from Light to Dark.

You'll see that a LinkedIn Profile button is now added for all employee records within your app. Take a moment to click through some employee records to see for yourself!

You're now going to add a new screen to the app that includes a form to adding new employees to the directory.\

Click "**+  New Screen**"

From the drop-down menu, select the "**Employees**" database.

Select the "**Add New Item**" option and click "**Done**"

You now have a screen within your app that allows you to add new employees to the directory. This screen is linked to from the bottom navigation. \
\
Go through the form and add some example data for a new employee.

Head back to your Employee table in Notion and you'll see your new employee is added!

Head back to NotionApps and give this screen a name. Let's call it "**Add New Employee**"

The navigation text and icon needs to be updated to accurately reflect our new screen.\
\
Click "**Edit Navigation**"

Locate the "Employees" navigation item and change the Navigation name to "Add Employee"

The icon in the navigation is currently a droplet, let's choose something more suitable from the drop-down menu.

Click the "**Settings**" menu from the left-hand navigation.

Click "**Upload**" and upload a new app icon or logo.

Head back to your app to see how your new colour screen looks!\

When you're happy with your app, click "**Publish**"

Click your subdomain here to view your app. It will open in a new window.

Enter your email address and verify the code that's sent to you.

Boom! You have your very own employee directory app, complete with the ability to scan detailed employee records and easily add new employees.
