Click "**Log in**" or click "**Create an account**" if you don't already have a log in.

Click the "**Search for your organisation**" field and type in the name of your organisation. This could be a football or sports club, a town, parish or district/borough council or an educational establishment.

Click "**Add a new one here**" if your organisation is not already listed.

Type in your organisation details, name, type and address as well as the most relevant role that you have in the organisation. When complete, then click "**Add Organisation**"

If you share a site with another club click "**Join A Ground**" and check if the ground already exists in PitchPower. Otherwise, click "**Add A Ground**"

Enter the details for the site. When complete, click "**Add Site**"

Click the site symbol to ensure the icon is in the right location that represents your site on the map. Then click "**Add Site**" to confirm adjusted location.

Click the "**Football**" field and then "**Add A Playing Area**"

Complete the details for the pitch(s). It is worth giving the name of the pitch that makes sense to you (e.g. Pitch A - 11v11 or Back Pitch - 7v7). **Don't add any pitches that are marked out on top of others. (e.g. if you have two 5v5s marked out over an 11v11 pitch, only include the 11v11 pitch in PitchPower).** Then click "Create"

Adjust the location of the pitch and the orientation. Then click "Add Playing Area"

If you need to add more pitches, click "Add Another Playing Area", otherwise, click "Continue To Playing Areas". You should add all of your pitches on this site at this point before proceeding.

Click the pitches on the site that your organisation would like to complete an assessment for. This should be all pitches on the site unless there is a specific reason for only assessing some of the pitches. Then click "Submit"

Click "Open Sport" and you're now ready to start your PitchPower assessment.

When you are ready to physically do your assessment, it is best to switch over to your phone as you'll need to take photos out on the pitches. However you can complete this via computer if you already have the required photos on your computer. To begin the assessment on your phone, visit [www.pitchpower.org.uk](http://www.pitchpower.org.uk) and sign in.

Before beginning you will need to complete the remaining BCDEF pre assessment actions and have a mental or written note with the details on so that when working through the assessment you can enter the details as the assessment questions request it and ultimately complete the assessment on the day.

**B - Budget** - What is your rough spend on maintenance and renovations on the site each season

**C - Cancellations** - Roughly how many games got cancelled on each pitch in the last 6 months? How many of these were due to waterlogging?

**D - Drainage** - Do you have a drainage system installed? If so, what type and when was it installed?

**E - Equipment** - What machinery do you own for maintaining the pitches (*please don't include external contractor equipment*)? You'll need the make, model and year of purchase along with the current condition it is in. (*This is key for being able to apply for the machinery grant*)

**F - Fixtures** - How many hours matchplay, training and recreational use does each pitch have during an average week during the main part of the season?

Upload a photo of the grass height. For this you will need to use the measuring tape and get a photo as low to the ground as you can showing the height of an average blade of grass next to the tape measure.

As long as the picture is good, don't worry too much about the measure entered being 100% accurate - it can be amended by the Grounds Management Association when they review the data submitted.

Upload a photo of the grass coverage. This should be a flat photo of the surface from standing height. Be sure to keep your feet out of the photo. Then do one of the following two options:

1. Select each square that has grass in it to get a percentage of grass coverage
2. Use the box below to enter the percentage grass coverage (easier)

Again if the GMA think the figure entered is not accurate, don't worry as they can amend it, as long as the picture is a good one.

Enter a number for the weed coverage and complete the surface debris question.

Upload a photo of the soil sample with the measuring tape next to it. This should be take with either:

1. A soil sampler and rubber headed mallet
2. A spade

The sample should be 150mm deep or more.

Then complete the figures for the topsoil depth, thatch depth and root depth. The green links give you details about what you are looking for with these measurements.

Now you have completed this pitch, undertake steps 43-58 for any remaining pitches and then you'll see the button to submit. Any items with a yellow icon are still outstanding, you should end up with green ticks next to every section when you are ready to submit.

Please ensure if you can't complete the assessment in one day that you are aware of the inspection deadlines as if you don't complete before the end of a deadline, the data you have entered so far will be wiped and you'll need to start again.
