FLIP: Instructions and Help

    Using and Troubleshooting Flip

We have found that Flip works most reliably on a computer - laptop or desktop - but we also understand that sometimes recording from your phone is just more convenient. Unfortunately, sometimes the integration between the Flip app and Canvas Student app is not as functional as we'd like. While Flip is (hopefully!) working on fixing that, here are some suggestions and workarounds we've found.

Since Flip was recently purchased by Microsoft, it may work best in the Edge browser.

iPhone users: Flip DOES NOT work on Safari. Even though the mobile devices don't actually use a browser, you will need to change your default browser to a non-Safari option - Edge and Chrome seem to work.

    1. If you're asked for a Join Code, you may need to sign out of the app, delete it, and then reinstall it. Then try Step 1 again.

    1. If the above steps do not work, you may need to transfer your video to your computer and upload it from Canvas in your browser. We've found that this works for most people!

Use OneDrive to transfer video from your phone to computer
    1. If you need assistance at any point, you may contact OTC Online by phone (417-447-8200) or email ([email protected]) for help. In your email, please include details of what is or is not happening, and screenshots if possible. Thanks!
