This hands-on lab provides a fully immersive experience using Dell Technologies Enterprise SONiC network operating system through a virtual environment.  You will gain knowledge of configuring, validating and troubleshooting EVPN multihoming, as well as learn key benefits of the feature.  

For the lab to work properly, the five sections below should be performed in order.

In this section, you will configure existing VTEPs to participate in multihoming.  

The commands are identical for Leaf1 (VTEP1) and Leaf2 (VTEP2).  For this demonstration, Leaf1 (VTEP1) has been pre-configured.  You will only be adding the configuration for Leaf2 (VTEP2).  

A constant ping between hosts will be used throughout this section to display when connectivity is present.  Additional validation is covered in the next section.

Welcome to the EVPN Multihoming hands-on lab!

The "show evpn es detail" command is used to validate the EVPN multihoming configuration. Use this command along with the pings from the previous section to ensure your setup is working correctly.

The first step in creating an EVPN multihomed tenant is to add more physical cables to allow for multiple paths for traffic. EVPN Multihoming supports up to four paths from a tenant, each going to a different VTEP.  In the interest of time, this example demonstrates adding the first redundant link only.
