ULTRA uses "if this → then that" logic. The Event Settings define the “if” — the conditions that trigger an event (e.g., a certain noise level,  air quality level, etc).

To receive alerts when these events occur, make sure you configure how you want to be notified under Alerts → Alert Settings.

Triton ULTRA is compatible with most modern VMS platforms, including:

Some integrations are only available through Triton Cloud (requiring a Triton Cloud license and account), some integrations also have local options that don't require a cloud license.

This is where you choose how alerts are delivered once an event is triggered. You can send email alerts, integrate with a VMS or security system (via HTTP/TCP), activate the physical I/O port for external devices, or use the built-in light ring and speaker to flash colors or play audio (default or custom).

All Triton ULTRA sensors are set to DHCP by default and don't have a default static IP address. 

Hard resetting a Triton ULTRA sensor will return it to factory defaults and will remove any data on the device including sensor name, IP configuration, and password. The default username is admin and password is 111111. The sensor will also grab a DHCP address, defaulting the sensor on a non-DHCP server can brick the device. Use the

Why We Recommend Avoiding Manual “Vape Tests”

Our vape detection algorithms are trained on thousands of 

. They are built to detect how students and others actually vape in bathrooms, not artificial “tests.”

When attempting to test the devices many users will blow vape directly into the sensor which overwhelms the device and often creates a 

event, don't take into account the cooldown timer or operating area, or emit only a small amount of vapor that cannot be reasonably picked up by the sensor.

These "tests" produce inconsistent results that make the sensor appear less effective than it actually is.

we strongly recommend against attempting to manually trigger vape detection during installation or commissioning.

But if you want to test, please follow this video guide and the instructions below: 

*Wall installation should only be done in scenarios with extremely high ceilings where a mounting pole isn't an option. Mounting the device on the wall will limit the effective coverage area by about half and also will impact the accuracy of the people counting and loitering features.

One of the standout features of this device is the occupancy visualization feature, which uses radar to track how many people are in a room, where they are at in the room, and how long they've been there. Follow the below recommendations to optimize the accuracy of this feature.

Testing the Vape Detection (Not Recommended)

Our vape detection algorithms are trained on 

, not artificial “tests.” Blowing directly into the sensor or filling the space with vapor often leads to false impressions because:

 We strongly advise against manual vape testing. Instead, rely on 

 — when sensors are installed according to specifications (height, coverage, and placement), they will perform reliably

 Email alerts only work if SMTP is properly configured.

 Higher tamper threshold values reduce sensitivity. It is a range between 0 and 1000. 500 is default, going lower makes more sensitive (more alerts), going higher makes less sensitive (less alerts).

No Alerts for a Specific Event (e.g., Vape, Aggression)

 Event actions must be paired with an alert type to trigger properly.

 Most false alerts are caused by environmental factors or airflow.

 Static IPs are highly recommended for on-premise setups.

 This is often needed after firmware updates.

 Even small typos in IPs, ports, or payload fields can prevent integrations from working.

Not Getting Alerts (or Getting Alerts Outside of Expected Hours)

 If these time settings are not configured, the device may not send alerts when expected — or may send them outside of normal hours. Be sure to review the schedule for each enabled event.

False Alerts or Missed Alerts for Keyword Detection

 Lower sensitivity values make the system more responsive but can increase false positives. Higher values reduce sensitivity and may help prevent false alerts.

Default password: Triton0520! (or 111111)

Set up email alerts using your SMTP credentials (note: an app password is required). Use the Test button to confirm it's working. You can edit the default email template under Resources → Email Template.

The Bulk Configuration tool lets you save time by applying the same settings across multiple Triton ULTRA devices. After setting up one device, you can use this feature to copy over key configurations like event settings, action settings, and alert rules to other devices.
Note: Some settings, such as device name, platform integrations, and network settings, are unique to each device and will not be copied.

When using the on-premise software with Triton ULTRA, you can receive alerts via SMTP (email) or through VMS integrations. To enable alerts for specific events, make sure a set/reset string is selected under Actions → Action Settings. Triton Cloud offers alerts via text and app as well. 

If you forget the password on your Triton ULTRA, it can be reset using the Triton Device Manager. The Triton defaults are 111111 or Triton0520!
