Getting Started

When/What Does GoGuardian Monitor?

  • GoGuardian only monitors and manages GCS Chromebooks; it only monitors activity inside the Chrome browser, not apps such as Minecraft or Files.

  • GoGuardian provides some district-level filtering in addition to Zscaler's filters; this filtering is in place 24/7.

  • Students can be actively monitored by teachers Monday - Friday from 7am to 6pm.

  • After hours and on weekends, parents can restrict access to the internet and to specific websites using the GoGuardian Parent App.

Classroom Basics

If you have Clever access, we recommend logging in that way. If not, you can log in via the web. Instructions for both are included below.

Logging Into GoGuardian

Classes are created automatically from rosters in PowerSchool. If you don't have rosters or want to create a different group, you can find those instructions below.

Using Scenes

Scenes allow a teacher to create a list of websites to be allowed or blocked. They can be applied and removed as needed during class.

In addition to filtering, Scenes can be used to limit the number of tabs students can have open at a given time, and can be used to automatically open specific webpages for students when applied.
